Welcome: I’m glad you found this blog too. It’s great to find people with interests in common. Let’s talk myth soon.
Happy to – it’s an ongoing interest. I’ve been looking for some information on Wodanaz lately (love the mix of poetry/ the wild hunt/ and, oddly, leeches), curious if you’ve read anything around Germanic mythology lately.
It’s a great coincidence that you’re asking about that. The closest I’ve gotten to Germanic mythology is a book just posted today on Call of the Siren: a biography of Snorri Sturluson. The author, Nancy Marie Brown, talks about Snorri’s intense fascination with Odin in the Norse pantheon. I didn’t realize that Thor was a much popular deity in those days — I didn’t realize Snorri had made an unusual choice in focusing on Odin. Definitely a book worth checking out to see if it supplies material you’re interested in.
Great reading about you sir.
Thanks for visiting my blog. Be in touch. Browse through the category sections, I feel you may find something of your interest.
Absolutely! I look forward to browsing — I’m sure I’ll find plenty that’s interesting!
Waterhouse would be pleased to know his painting fits your blog in such a symbolic way ) I am happy to have discovered your blog!
Same here! I’ll be a visitor to yours as well.
How do you select books for review? I’ve got a book I’d be *thrilled* if you’d consider.
I’d be glad to take a look if you want to let me know more about it at: nickowchar@msn.com I’m no longer at the Times, though; my coverage extends mainly to Call of the Siren … but that means it’s infinitely much better now!
Nick, hi. Congratulations, I am nominating you for the Liebster Award. I will not be offended if you’re too busy to go through the long list of requirements!

Hi OG&B — happy holidays to you too. December was a long, difficult month: My mother passed away after a sudden illness. I’m so glad to hear from you. It was really nice to see your comment during one of the month’s gloomier moments. I’ll be back soon. Hope you and yours have a terrific new year ahead.
Nick, so sorry to hear your sad news. My thoughts are with you and your family. Glad that you will be back soon. I’ ll look out for you. Many heartfelt condolences.
